Our first ever outdoor ‘Carols on the Canal’ will be in association with the Forth Canoe Club and Boroughmuir High School. It will feature all our favourite carols, the Edinburgh University Brass Band, and even a barge full of lights! We hope that this will become a new community tradition. Please join us on the 1st of December to kick off the festive season.
No ticket required.
We will be taking donations; all proceeds will be going to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Get Organ-ised 2023

We’re excited to be joining John Kitchen again this Christmas! We will present varied seasonal music for Advent and Christmas, both old favourites and new pieces. You will also have the chance to sing some of your favourite carols - and inevitably the organ variations on ‘Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ will make an appearance. Edinburgh University Christmas Carol Service 2023

Sunday 10th December 6PM
Music will be provided by the Edinburgh University Singers, the Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers and the Salvation Army Edinburgh City Corps Band. The carol service is led by the University Chaplaincy.
Doors will open at 5:15pm; we advise you to arrive early due to the popularity of this event.

Singers Spring Concert – Durufle Requiem

In our closing concert of this academic year the Singers are proud to be performing Durufle’s requiem. We are excited for our final concert of the academic year, and so grateful to sing in person again this year.
The concert will feature the works of Rani Arbo, William H. Harris and R.V. Williams.

50% of this ticket sales will be donated to Voices of Children to support children impacted by the war in Ukraine.

Upholding a long-standing tradition, The Edinburgh University Singers return to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery for their annual concert of seasonal music.

Spring Concert- Friday 29th March 2019 7.30pm
Church of the Sacred Heart
The Edinburgh University Singers present their Spring concert in the beautiful setting of Church of the Scared Heart, Lauriston Place. This concert has a distinctly Scottish feel, with works by Leighton – Sequence for All Saints, Cunningham – The Painter’s Eye, Phillips – The Flowers of the Forest, Hearne – The Seagull, and Powell – Dream Angus.
It promises to be a wonderful final concert of the academic year, before we look forward to our summer tour to Northern Italy!

Edinburgh University Tree Lighting- 27th November 2018 4.45pm
Old College
Students and staff are cordially invited to the switching on of the Christmas tree lights in the Old College quadrangle. The Edinburgh University Singers and the Edinburgh Salvation Army band will provide seasonal music. Festivities will take place on Tuesday 27th November. Entertainment will start at 4.45pm, with the Principal switching on the Christmas tree lights at 5pm.

Songs from ‘Across the Pond’- Sunday 18th November 2018 3pm
Church of the Sacred Heart
The Edinburgh University Singers presents: Songs from “Across the Pond”; our first concert of this academic year in the beautiful Church of the Sacred Heart. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under 25s and available online and on the door.
The concert features music inspired by America. The main work is Michael Tippett’s Spirituals, originally written to punctuate his oratorio, A Child of Our Time. Other works include Lori Laitman’s song, If I can stop one heart from breaking, from her suite using texts by Emily Dickinson. Samuel Barber’s song, Sure on this shining night, with text by James Agee and Dan Forrest’s heartbreaking song with text by Mark Twain, Good Night, Dear Heart. There are also arrangements of Summertime, Moon River and Ain’t misbehavin’ by Peter Backhouse.

Edinburgh University Singers presents Brahms: A German Requiem- Friday 23rd March 2018 7.30pm
Reid Concert Hall
The Edinburgh University Singers are trying our hand at one of the finest pieces of romantic music ever written: Brahms’ A German Requiem.
Composed between 1865 and 1868, the requiem stands as a genre defining example of the late romantic era, blending lush chromatic harmony with gorgeous melodies and masterful choral arrangement. Equal parts sombre and comforting, come join us for an evening of beautiful music beautifully presented.
